I think it will go back to being what it is, sophisticated code that performs a task. This strange craze about calling everything AI and then making promises that it cannot fulfill will eventually crash like NFTs. A lot of powerful people get conned into investing ridiculous sums of money into something and are told it will make them so much profit. However, in this case, there was no product already made to be sold. They had to funnel funds into development with very lackluster results. It is always going to be lackluster because it is all based on human work and human works are flawed. Putting a bunch of flawed data into a processor is going to regurgitate flawed results.

It is faster for a person to use their own brain than to input a bunch of data into a computer for the computer to try and make guesstimates based on the given data set.

Most people think it is AI like we see in sci-fi movies and it is not that. We are not yet at original thought from the code.

It will go back into being what it was before. An algorithm, a process, lines of code.

The fun thing is eventually laws will catch up to the content grinders and make it so everyone using someone else’s intellectual property in their “AI” works will be able to be sued. Then this will finally collapse for good. Several countries have already put some restrictions in place. Eventually the US will follow suit. Disney has already had multiple lawsuits. This will eventually trickle down into common law and be completely dead in the water.
