Before I would have said Jennifer Government, but I think that is where we are heading. So. I will think of another. 1984? Oh, wait, never mind. We are kind of turning into that as well.
Hunger Games, perhaps? Maze Runner? Anywhere that we are putting children in harm’s way for sport seems like a bad thing. In Hunger Games, it is also how a district gets more funding, so that seems like a lot to put on a child’s back. Honestly, I feel like we could end up here too easily from where we are now.
All those dystopian books that were trying to warn us about a bleak future seem to be turning into road maps for some people.
The Giver! I am not really a fan of one person holding history. Having everyone homogenized seems terrible. I really wish we could live in a world that celebrated our differences. But we are not yet at The Giver level of dystopian levels.
