Communication. With all the different ways we have to communicate, people either do not utilize them or use them inappropriately.
Some people can talk forever and never say anything. People breed resentment and hate because they cannot effectively talk to people that they have conflict with. Other people are so dismissive or insulting when they speak and they try and say they are speaking their truth, when all they are doing is being hurtful for no reason.
Communication is so important. When driving you signal to other drivers, that is communication. Trying to work with the school to get your kid the help they need, that is communication. All the neighbors are trying to figure out who owns the cat hanging around everyone’s house, that is communication.
The better communicator you are, the less conflict there is in your life. However, you can be the best communicator in the world and your relationship with someone can be poor because they are bad at communicating their needs and expectations. It is a two way street and you can only be as successful as the weaker communicator.
