The genie grants you a wish. What is it?

I wish the electoral college was abolished.

I thought about this question for a long time. I could ask for money, or stuff. Or general happiness. But those things are fleeting. Even if my personal problems were solved, I would not feel that much better. The world is so full of hate right now. Everyday we hear about another transgression or another death. We keep moving away from the way the world should work.

In a government that is supposed to be the will of the people, we need to listen to the people. We want universal healthcare. We want to see the Epstein files. I want to quit wasting money on vanity projects and frivolous lawsuits. I want justice for all. People in our country should feel safe. The majority should not be living paycheck to paycheck while millionaires become billionaires.

I want the voice of the people to mean something again. We are more alike than we are different. We need to quit letting these awful people divide us. We should not rejoice in the suffering of others. I want to be proud of my country, not ashamed on a daily basis.

Allowing the majority to govern will let our politics re-center itself to something more humane. We should be lifting one another up, not tearing each other apart.
