I do not know that I would call them life hacks, but there are a few things that help me get things done.
Online grocery shopping is amazing. Having someone else do the shopping for you and all you have to do is drive there and pick it up is amazing. It was a lifesaver during the pandemic and after when I was too busy to get to the store because of the children’s activities. You learn the best time to shop to get the best shopper quite quickly. I liked to shop when the older people would be working as the store’s online shopper. I had a much more successful shop with them. So during M-F 8-5. Weekends and evenings, good luck. At least where I live.
Do not be afraid to do those meal prepping programs. I know a lot of people that use them and they have all been super successful at getting themselves back on track. If you have eating issues or scheduling issues, meal prepping programs are great to get you back to living the life you want to live. I will be starting one soon. I have been putting it off because I keep thinking I am going to get back in the flow of regularly cooking, but I really do not want to. My partner and I do not agree what a good meal is and I think this will be easier now that it is only the two of us.
Honestly, I like to have little spurts of activity when cleaning or organizing or tackling a list of chores. I will cluster the tasks by room, difficulty, or type. Then I take little reward breaks between completing clusters. Clean both bathrooms. Take a one hour game break. I set an alarm and everything. Then I do another cluster. Do the dishes. Watch one video from whatever that is fifteen minutes long. Then another cluster. It is helpful for me and is how I like to do things. It works well with my pain disorder as well. I work, give my body a break, then back to it.
Another life hack I have is making lists or setting an alarms. Have to do something at or by a certain time, set an alarm. Phones are great for that because you know you will always have your phone with you. You can even keep a list in it. When it is something that my partner and I need to do the next day and I know it, I send a text message to my partner. Like I notice the cat water tank needs to be filled before tomorrow is over. I sent a text. I see it first thing when I wake up or he sees it when he gets off work. At some point one of us will open that chat, even if we read it earlier, to send something new and we will both see that last message about refilling the water. It has proven super helpful for getting things done between the two of us.
