What’s the best advice you’d give to someone younger than you?

We have had similar prompts in the past and each time I try and come up with a new response.

This time I am telling the youth that they can enjoy things without trying to monopolize it or being the best at it. You can have a hobby that is fun. They do not need to be gifts, they do not need to be evaluated, they do not need to be sold. You can enjoy creating something or playing something for fun.

There is so much hustle culture these days and older generations telling the youth that they could do something with that thing they enjoy. You do not have to do anything but enjoy what you like. Game nights are fun. Hobby sports are fun and good exercise. Also a great way to connect with friends.

Crafts do not need to make you money. Art does not need to make you money. You can enjoy the process, and enjoy the creation. It does not need to be good. Nobody else even has to see it. If you enjoy it, that is all that matters. Have fun and do not compare yourself to other people! Life is too short to worry about how you compare. Focus on enjoying your life! it is so much better than trying to be the best or keep up with everyone else.

    Sometimes a phone number is not just a number. It carries memories, conversations, laughter, and a chapter of your life that meant something.

    Even when someone is no longer here to call, a small reminder can keep a connection alive. Your mind understands that things have changed, but your heart still remembers the moments you shared.

    You are not holding onto a contact. You are holding onto a piece of a person who once mattered deeply.

    Some people become such an important part of your story that even their absence leaves a presence behind.
