There are three tattoos that I have been considering getting next. One is a phoenix rising from the flames. I think the Phoenix is such a perfect example of bettering oneself over time. As you learn and grow, the person you once were fades away and is replaced with this new version of yourself. It is also symbolic of the trauma that I have gone through. The difficult moments in life where I would be at my lowest and I rallied and came back after picking up the pieces.
I also want to get a memorial tattoo for my calico cat. It took me a long time to find one that I felt would do her justice. I am not big on photographic tattoos, I wanted something that took a bit more artistic liberty to capture the essence of her. I found one where the different color patches of the cat are flowers. She loved flowers. I am currently torn between a couple poses. Either one with her belly exposed on one where she is statuesque. I could get a second cat tattoo for our other cat we lost and make it be the statuesque one. She was rather aloof yet emotionally dependent. It was such a strange combo.
The third tattoo is cleaning up my current tattoo. It was a flash tattoo I got when I turned eighteen and after college, I wanted to have parts of it redone to get rid of the Asian writing that I cannot even read. I have a couple ideas of how I would like it changed and I need to find someone willing to work with me on it. I think I can have a lot of the writing transition into leaves and flowers to match the rest of the tattoo.
It is one of the reasons I am against people getting a tattoo to just have one. I mean, it is your body, do what you want. However, people I know who have wanted to get one to be cool, should have probably spent more time thinking about what they wanted. I love the flowers of my tattoo. I should have just gotten the flowers. Oh to be eighteen and unable to realize your opinions on things may change.
