This is actually funny. One of those weird ships passing in the night things. We met online, only to find out that during our freshmen year at university we had the same friend group. I am two years older than my partner and had moved onto different friend groups by the time he started at the same university. He then started school and somehow joined their social circle for most of his freshmen year before moving on as well.
It was a funny coincidence.
We met online while he was multiple states away and home for the summer before his senior year. I am the one who picked him up from the airport and we had our first date at my favorite Thai place before I dropped him off at school.
Sixteen years later and still together. Life is funny like that.
