What’s a skill you consider basic, that most people don’t actually know how to do?

Well, I know how to sew. Nothing fancy. Basic stitches. I know how to do my own research and how to verify sources. That is really surprising how many people do not know how to do that. I know how to make jam.

During university, I learned that a lot of people do not know how to do their own laundry. Or how to clean a bathroom.

I have learned how to keep your cat from destroying furniture. Provide a lot of scratching posts and things that will soak up their scent. If that fails, they need more enrichment, so play with them more.

I know how to garden. I have a varied garden and yard with various plants. I have a vegetable garden, fruit bushes and trees, and a few flower beds. They all require different care, but most of them have been around for a decade now and still going strong.
