When I first saw this question, I had such a great answer. Then I came back to write it and I forgot what it was.

I will say that I have a lot of Charlie Brown or Jan Brady vibes. A lot of people pulling the football away when I go to kick it. I am a middle child for my father and my brothers got all the attention. I was too self sufficient for my mom to worry about me.

I have a lot of terrible luck. Things always seem to be harder for me than my peers when it comes to fitting in, finding success, and being recognized for my work.

I am just here, doing my own thing. I put myself out there a lot, trying to make friends, get activities organized, joining parent groups. A lot of offering ideas and suggestions to be to told no, only for someone else to come in and offer the same thing and everyone rallies around them.

I am reliable and will put in the work. I am not flashy or pushy.

Sometimes I feel like Greek mythology’s Cassandra. When I warn my kids or partner not to do things and they do them anyway with disastrous results. Then I help the clean up their literal or metaphorical messes.
