What’s your biggest dream?

Since I was a little girl I wanted to visit every continent. Early on I realized going to every country seemed unlikely, but six more continents seemed reasonable. I have yet to leave my home continent. Money has not been kind to me. There are always seem to be more important things to spend money on, like kids, pets, or my partner.

You will be saying what about Antarctica. Yes, I want to see it. They have cruises that go down that allow you to see it. I have no reason to be on that continent, but I feel like looking over its coastline is adequate enough to say that I visited. There is one in particular that I had investigated before the pandemic and nearly booked before our girls ended up at our door. We were going to the tip of South America and then take a cruise ship down. I would have gotten two continents in one trip!

Currently, we plan to go to Australia before we make a final decision on adopting again. It gives time for things with our kids to settle and to allow ourselves to get out of debt. Once that is done, we are going to put our tax refund money toward a trip for the two of us. MIght try and sneak New Zealand in there, but I am a pretty thorough traveler. I like to see as much as possible, so it may need to become two separate trips. There is a lot to see in Australia. It has always been high on my partner’s list to take me there because of the barrier reef and with the world dying, we need to go sooner than later. He has been to Australia before and that is where he first went scuba diving. He loved going there and I feel like it would be a good first intercontinental trip because unlike Europe, it would be more difficult to feel like I should see more countries. Again, I am a thorough traveler. I like to experience where I am going to stop and look at something for ten minutes and leave.

My biggest dream is to visit all the continents. There are various places on each continent I would like to see, but first I would like to visit them all. Then with funds and time willing, I will go back and see the other places I want to see.
