Technically, that would have to be my pets. Not that I shopped for them, but I did pay their adoption fees, their supplies, veterinary care, and toys. They have all been great companions and nothing better than coming home to them.
Not including my pets, my house, or car, I will pick something fun instead. My old canon camera. Used it as my primary camera for over twelve years. Absolutely great little camera. I learned how to take pictures on that camera. I knew how to use all the functions and began taking great photos of my journey, pets, and my kids.
To this day, some of my favorite pictures of my pets, kids, my partner, and vacation photos have come from this camera. I still have it as it works in a pinch, but I have upgraded to a fancier camera.
Being able to capture my memories in the moment has always been something I treasure. My favorite photos are not posed or properly set up. They are candid shots of my little ballerina dancing, my oldest’s real smile as she laughs at a joke, my partner excitedly watching wildlife while on a hike, and my pets being goofballs or snoozing in strange places.
I do not only take photos and keep them digitally. I print them, hang them, put them in books, and make custom gifts with them. My favorite is putting pet photos on my reusable shopping bags. It is a nice happy moment at the end of a long grocery trip.
