Personally, I have never really experienced one of these moments as happening to me. Though I have felt moments where I feel like a part of someone else’s movie.
There are moments when time seems to slow down, like when you witness a car wreck or some other kind of disastrous thing when there is nothing you can do to intervene. Watching something fall and hit someone, not enough time to warn them but enough to realize what is happening in real time.
There were a few moments with my oldest. Three in particular where she was in her early teens and stood in traffic. Luckily I was close and pulled her out of the road in time. Scariest moments of my life. She was completely unaware and that was honestly even scarier to deal with.
With my youngest it was watching her dance on stage. Seeing her perform whether good or bad and knowing she was making core memories to look back on. It was amazing.
Small moments that will be etched in someone’s memory forever. In this case, mine.
