Honestly, my third grade teacher Ms. Chandler was probably the first teacher to have a real impact on me. She would show us famous artwork and go over different art concepts, like color theory and the meaning of art.
She also taught us about constellations. A few different nights, she would meet with whoever wanted to in order to look at the stars through her telescope. She taught us the stories behind the names of the constellations. I went on to become obsessed with Greek mythology, which led me to other cultural mythologies.
Besides teaching me the things she was supposed to teach me, she introduced me to topics that became lifelong loves.
We also had a lot of problems in our classroom with a lot of infighting and she tried to teach us right and wrong, basic concepts of justice.
Ms. Chandler was an amazing teacher.
