That would be the house that I live in. It was in a sorry state when we bought it. The previous owners thought they were handy or something and just completely destroyed the inside in so many ways. We hired people to do the floors, redo the cabinets in the kitchen and completely rebuild the upstairs bathroom. The floors were refinished. Most of the electrical had to be redone. The place was a mess.
Now my partner and I repainted the entire interior of the house. Ceilings, walls, trim, and some of the baseboards. We have lived here over a decade and have not finished the baseboards, but within the first month of living here we repainted everything else.
I actually ended up breaking out in hives at one point because I had been covered in paint so much for so many weeks. It was kinda funny.
We also changed out all the doors and hardware in the house ourselves. If we did not have to buy a new door, we painted the old ones to match with the rest. Changed out all the light fixtures, electrical panels, and hardware around the house. Had to redo all the closets. This place was such a hodgepodge assortment of pieces when we moved in and not in a cool eclectic kind of way. More like we found this free on the side of the road kind of way.
We are currently in the middle of remodeling the basement into some living space. I do the sealing and my partner has been installing the floor. We are about halfway done. Should finish that and add the new walls this year.
I am actually really happy with our home and I am very proud of what we turned this house into. It is so cozy and just the way we want it.
